We have quite a few stoneflies that live in the flowing waters of the Ipswich River valley.  One that will show up soon is the Little Black Stonefly.

The field guides for stoneflies are hard to find.  Brian Armitage in Ohio has been maintaining the publications of The Caddis Press.  He has some stonefly guides that are cheap.  If you try to get these publications through book dealers, they will cost 5 to 10 times more. We need people to study stoneflies.  I recommend now is a good time to add to your library if you think you may get into this group during your life time.
